This is the worst proposed changed I have seen so far and the first that will probably make me unsub if it goes through. CCP seem to completely misunderstand the problems EVE has and have decided to break the game.
This will essentially remove capitals as an interesting ship class and certainly cause a lot of the older players to unsubscribe because their endgame content just got removed.
Even as W-Space corp this will be unbelievably annoying as we will no longer be able to bring capitals in through most of our nullsec/lowsec connections and JFs will be completely worthless.
As lowsec corp it will be A LOT harder to get supplies, especially for small corps that can not escort their Freighters into lowsec.
The fix for big fights and the broken sov systems lies in changing how capitals work on grid and how sov mechanics work, not in changing jump mechanics. |

WH corps will no longer be able to commit capitals to someone else's system because extracting them will be near impossible. |

No, this is dumb, and you should feel bad for saying it. Extracting capitals will work just fine, you might just need to wait a bit to move them around.
5ly is a laughably short range, that means most nullsec will not be viable for extraction. Rolling is not an option because you are in a hostile system. I agree it'll be doable but much more annoying, and this certainly will reduce the amount of people putting up with that.
More imporantly more waiting should not be the goal of changes to the game. |

Wormhole systems of larger entities will be even harder to siege because seeding caps becomes much harder. This also means that these large entities can't siege others as easily but either way content is decreased. |

You are joking right, as it's the larger groups that place most the caps on the markets. Not to mention a few of these entities have the funds to straight up produce alliance level caps, which they hand out to cap pilots. If you think I am joking just understand, many alliances give full replacements and offer bonuses if you have this or that. Also caps use to be an alliance level ship, controlled by said group, given out for use as needed. Thus many players know how to setup catches and control how they are used. I for one hate this plan, but when it goes active will laugh as I will likely be flying a borrowed carrier and dread into most future fights. So less risk for me and you still get stomped on.
You are completely right but I was talking about w-space.
Thinking about it, I actually look forward to carrier roams now. |
